The whole scenario was sooo reliable, and I'm happy to see that you were able to create a fun, time-based puzzle game about that! :D Neverever was tidying up more fun to me. ;> The pixel art is gorgeous and in some way I always thought that all the hidden stuff was my own fault, because I'm a quite messy person in real life as well, haha! It made me super happy to see that your game got the 13th place in the Ludum Dare 37. :) Happily I wrote a short article about your entry and also uploaded a gameplay video of it. <3 I hope that you might participate in the next Ludum Dare as well, because I can't wait to see new stuff of you. :)

I couln't figure out why there weren't enough places to put everything. I went to youtube and looked up a guide to see if I was doing something wrong. There was a trash can in the hallway...... I spent 36 minutes trying to figure out how to beat this without knowing there were two trash cans haha. I still however loved the time I spent playing this fun little game. :)
Hah, sorry I was a jerk by hiding this trash can. :) You're expected to notice it when you have your first game over - or at least be curious enough to check the hallway after you've seen your mom come from there once
Eheheh it was initially supposed to go there, along with the magazine. ;) But it made the game too easy. I guess mom would disregard you trying to hide your "books", but not the gross sticky tissues :D

Ahah, some item placement is a bit arbitrary. If it hadn't been a game jam, I'd probably have put more thought to some items, especially food. As for the clothes not becoming dirty from cleaning stains, well, I didn't have the time, but that was the initial idea.

This game is so much fun! I finally got 100% for it. Just wanted say how I appreciate how the music intensifies and then stops at the last five seconds, it really got me.

As for the music... it's actually a bug in the HTML5 version, because the engine caps at 59fps ahah The .exe version caps at 60, and should have the music line up perfectly with the end.
Got a D on second try! :D Genuinely great game! Love everything about it. The idea, the pixel art, the design. It's very challenging but fair. Got almost nothing to critique except the controls feel a bit slippery – but that could also be argued to be on purpose to add to the feeling of panic/pressure!
Let's be fair, the controls being slippery isn't really on purpose ahah. Game jam games aren't great for gettng things like this right. And I can't fix it because the whole game balance is working with these controls :/
Haha, I totally know that feel! "fixed" my controls once at rather late in a jam, and it became instantly too easy to be fun. Few precious hours that I'll try not waste in future jams. :D
I really enjoyed the game, and I definitely felt the anxiety that Mom was drawing near haha. I got 98% even though I got everything right, what gives? :v
P.S - If I interact with the floor while running up to it, the game can soft-lock if I too far over the stain. :c

Hm, weird, WASD should work for moving... but QSD is because I'm french, and we have AZERTY keyboards, not QWERTY. :) ZQSD is our WASD.
It doesn't conflict with WASD controls so I just left the option by default... but yeah, not sure why up doesn't work. I might have fucked up the WASD controls since I was focusing on arrows. Sorry!

The stain softlock is a known issue I need to fix asap.
